The winner of my Canadian Crafty Blog Hop won a feature post. I interviewed the winner Cindy of Creations by Cindy. Cindy is from Aurora, Ontario, Canada.
1. How did you get started in card making?
I got started 13 years ago, and was originally introduced to peragamano parchment craft by my sister in law in the Netherlands. After several years of doing that I was introduced to Embroidery and 3D paper tole on cards. I’ve done a many different types of cards since then including teabag folding, ornare paper piercing, stenciling, etc. I was introduced to stamping about 3 years ago on an internet group, but really never did a lot of it until about 2009.
2. What is your favourite tool or item for making your cards?
Oh Gosh that is a hard one, but I guess I would have to say my big shot, as you can cut out things, emboss things and do all sorts of neat things with it.
3. Where do your get your inspiration from?
I guess you could say I get my inspiration from a number of different things, other blogs and stampers, magazines, colors I would say come from the things around me, and what I find pleasing the to eye.
4. Is this something you do full-time or as a hobby?
as a hobby, but would love to do it full time someday. I work full time as a security supervisor at a condominium.
5. Do you sell your handmade cards?
Yes, I do sell my cards, I don’t do a lot of craft shows, I have a number of people that buy regularly from me, but still not enough to make it a full time job.
6. Is there anything else you want to share about your cards?
I guess you could say that my cards are a classic elegance type. I strive to do be the best that I can be, and use this wonderful hobby to help me relax. I don’t think I could ever just stick to one type of card as I enjoy all sorts of medium from 3 dimensional, to embroidery on cards, to parchment, to stamping, and I will try anything once, If I like it I’ll do it again, if not, then I will say okay I tried it but it’s not me.
Thanks to everyone who joined me at the Canadian Crafty Blog hop & thank-you to Cindy of Creations by Cindy for sharing something about you.
